STRENGTHS:

Sways/Footwork (stepping)
Standup incl. clinch (muay thai clinch and comboing especially)
Reversals (want to be better though)
Posturing (a lot of people have struggled with this, get at me if you wanna know the secret to it)
Transitions - MASTERED butterfly guard, learned how to perform quicker transitions (no need for circle movements - !!!!)

WEAKNESSES:

Takedown Defense other than the pre-emptive <-RS
Submissions (NEED to practice bruteforce technique to perfect it - eg. non-Kimura/ North-south applications?)
Cage defense - Would really like to work on angling feet towards to the cage in bottom positions.
Flying Knees - need to work on timing, landing placement
Switch-stance Stand-up - Need to master back-kicks, other moves mid-fight. planning on varying dominant hand on my CAF to stay unpredictable.

alright well from the look of it, it looks like most of the weakness' are someone else's specialty so that is good.
but we sort of have a problem with takedown defense and submissions.
me myself i will probably be able to help everyone on the takedown defense.
but im not so good on the subs either
but to tell you the these two skills rely a lot on your rating on it
so these two will take some time to get down.
but i can teach you guys some tricks to hold your own till you get your skills up.
but im glad to hear that some of our members can help out other members when i wont be able to do it right away .
i will try to figure out who to pair off.
i will post the pairs later on either this post or another one.
but whoever i pair off will have to figure out the time for themselves.
or if you guys want a specific partner tell me.
thanks
CTT!!

Re: Info on sparring

Post  Aidsrian on Mon May 24, 2010 2:05 am

I'm good at mixing it up with strikes and keeping my distance with step backs and sways. I love to work the body to get open headshots. I also figure it's a tendency for human players to block head only and just brawl and I'd love to fight these guys which tends to be the average player. However, I'll probablly throw more takedowns when I get a wrestling CAF.

I suck at clinch against expert and if I see any chance for a takedown within clinch I go for it so I get stuffed (or get takedown) to create room because I want to get out of it badly. Need work on some defensive ground game and reversals and I HATE TAKEDOWN DEFENSE. Sometimes I get cocky with mixing up strikes and leave myself open. For example, leg kicks are good on a backing away opponent, but I'll see that they land well and use one too many and get popped.

Sorry bout long post.

When I'm in half guard with Shogun I do a minor transition holding L1. It's also in your action list when in half guard.

you can only sink BFLYG in from halfguard down and sidecontrol down at the moment

LB+minor transition away from your opponent (bottom half-circle)

this might be just nit-picking but why would you list your stand-up as a strength if you don't know how to sway? lol

SWAY = Hold Block and flick LEFT stick any direction

I am extreamly good at the ground game. Subs, transitions, reversals and everything else.
Good with the clinch and have good takedown def and offence.
Im also quite good now at the sway system.
Last year i was far more of a ground and pound then submit the guy so i wasnt on the feet that offten. This year the standup is alot better looking cause you dont get locked out wile the other person uses you as a punching bag.

i have been sitting here trying to make training partners for all of you
but they dont just match up well
i mean i do have some matches and all that but people wont get the training they need right away .
so if you guys want the matches i prepared than just reply yes or no and i will post them
and if not then we can just pick our own partners for training.
sorry bout this
